At library dedication, Bush declares 'we made the tough decisions'
Thu Apr 25, 2013
I certainly had plenty to disagree with George W. Bush about over his eight-year term, but he's a good man, he did what he thought was right, and served with honor. That's the bottom line.
White House: Tsarnaev won't be treated as enemy combatant
Mon Apr 22, 2013
I totally disagree with the White House. He is an enemy combatant. This was an act of terrorism. Screw civilian justice.
In blow to gun control backers, background check compromise falls 6 votes short
Wed Apr 17, 2013
Will you prevail in the coming elections? Who knows, but the fact remains that a majority of this nation supports background checks in this case. That is undeniable.
Rutgers players defend fired basketball coach Mike Rice
Thu Apr 4, 2013
To me, the most disturbing part of this story is that in the sports culture, it is apparently still very acceptable to use homophobic slurs. Unfortunately, I don't think this will go away any time soon.
Florida school apologizes after students stomp on 'Jesus'
Wed Mar 27, 2013
Regardless of religious beliefs, this is a very sad story. Christianity deserves respect as much as Islam, Judaism, or Buddhism. Shame on whoever perpetuated this useless exercise.
Pope Francis spoke of being 'dazzled' by girl, possible change of celibacy rule
Wed Mar 20, 2013
Although the Pope's comments are grossly insufficient for many, the fact remains that these are the most encouraging words I have heard from a Roman Pontiff in my Catholic lifetime. There is a glimmer of hope, I believe, in his statements.
Obama says 'there is still time' to find diplomatic solution to Iran nuke dispute; Netanyahu hints at impatience
Wed Mar 20, 2013
Respectfully, I have to disagree with navmarjud. I would rephrase his statement as follows: "With friends like the U.S., Israel need not worry about its enemies."
Ten years after Iraq invasion, US troops ask: 'Was it worth it?'
Mon Mar 18, 2013
Yes, Clinton did have his chance to apprehend Bin Laden, but the often-ignored fact remains that not once was his name mentioned in the 2000 election campaign. Neither was the threat of terrorism. Both Bush and Gore sidestepped this issue.
Vote: Was Pope Francis a good choice?
Wed Mar 13, 2013
Having had the privilege of a Jesuit College Preparatory education, I couldn't be more pleased with this choice. At least, I feel that the Church will attack problems with some degree of critical thinking and logic instead of adhering to hardened and outdated dogma.
How the Bush administration sold the Iraq war
Sat Feb 16, 2013
Yes, the Bush administration was intent on invading Iraq from the moment it came into power. It capitalized on the American public's ignorance to imply that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11. A people consumed with cell phones and big-screen TV resolution quality had no time or pat …
